Gospel musicians lack good content – Tagoe sisters

Ace gospel group, Tagoe Sisters say
gospel musicians in Ghana are
struggling to come up with good
content.
According to the duo, many gospel
artistes also lack the competence to
write their own songs but rather
resort to sampling old tunes to make
them appear new.
"Many musicians don't know how to
write their own songs and instead of
engaging a song writer, they rather
force themselves to do anything at
all, saying they are musicians" they
said on Adom Entertainment Hall
show with Mike'2' last Saturday.
They were however worried how so
many so-called musicians struggle
to sing, displaying a serious lack of
talent.
"Don't force yourself to sing if you are
not good, and don't also force to
write songs knowing that you are not
good at that. The best thing to do is
to seek for a processional person to
help", they urged.
They expressed displeasure about the
indecent dressing of some gospel
musicians, who appear to have
forgotten they are promoting the word
of God through music.
Meanwhile, Tagoe Sisters have
lauded the Ghana Music Right
Organization (GHAMRO) for shaping
the system to make the industry more
transparent.
They said the current administration
led by Kojo Antwi, has changed the
face of the office making sure that,
musicians receive their rightful
royalties.
In another development, the Tagoe
Sisters have urged the public to
watch for an event dubbed 'Tagoe
Sisters Golden Jubilee'.
They released their first album in
1987.
